The Lilac City Rollergirls go global.

Back in 2008 I started shooting portraits of a very unique group of women. The Lilac City Rollergirls are a local Spokane roller derby league. I wanted to shoot the photographs in a way the showed who the women were in their daily lives but also kept a part of their rollergirl side visible. I decided to shoot the women in places that represented them but they would all be wearing skates to keep a theme to the project. It was a lot of work over several months but the final result was well worth it.

Last night ZUMA, a photography agency I work with, picked up the story and sent it around the globe. http://www.thepicturesoftheday.com/zReportage.html?num=zrep325

Cheers,
